Ethylene Unit (ABB LUMMUS GLOBAL) This unit is considerd to be the fundamental unit in the company is fed by (LNG) gas as a raw material (feed stock) supplied through a pipeline from Rumaila oil fields to produce ethylene gas which is the elementary material needed to produce plastic granules and some other industrial liquids. The design capacity of this unit is 132000 Mt/y.
Low Density Polyethyline (Quantum U.S. licence) This unit produces different grades of polyethylene granules differs in melt index and density . Melt index rang from (0.28 - 23) g/10 min. Density rang (920 - 0015)g/cc Applications: LDPE granules are food grade product ( general purpose film ,carrier bags , heavy duty packaging , agriculture film , blow moldings , toys ,general purpose articles ...etc) . The design capacity of this unit is (60000) Ton/year.
High Density Polyethylene (Phillips) This unit produces different grades of high density polyethylene granules differs in melt index and density . melt index (0.963 - 0.945) g/cc. Density range ( 0.963 - 0.945 )g/cc Applications : HDPE granules are food grade used to produce ( general purpose bags , thermo formed dunnage , containers for bottling proudest, gas distribution pipes , potable water pipes , housewares , toys ) . The design capacity of this unit is 30000 mt/y.
Clorine / Caustic Unit (OXYTC / ZARMBA) This unit produces liquid chlorine by a process of electrolytic analysis of the brine (salt solution) liquid chlorine packed in cylinders mostly used for the domestic water chlorination . This unit also produces caustic soda for various purposes. Hydrochloric acid and sodium Hypochlorite. The design capacity of this unit is 42000 T/y Chlorine, 84000 T/y Caustic soda.
Vinyl Chlorine Monomer (Stuffer license) This unit react chlorine and Ethylene in special reactors to produce (VCM) and hydrochloric acid . The products of this unit is mainly used to produce PVC . The design capacity of this unit is (66000 t/y).
Poly vinyl chlorine (Stuffer license) This unit converts vinyl chlorine monomer to PVC powder of different grades like (54,66,71) different in K. value , B-density, volatile. Common use of these grades is (pipes, sheet, conduit, electric wire, coating, package, bottle, injection molded products, flexible pipes ) . The design capacity of this unit is (60000 T/y).
Utility and services This unit supply all other units with energy needed for production processes. This includes (steam , chilled water , electric power, compressed air for instrumentation, drinking water, irregation water , fire fighting water and some other services. There are four boilers. Each capacity 120 Ton steam/H. Also there are four gas turbine generators each of 20 mega.
Agricultural film unit This factory could be considered an extension of LDPE unit. It produces plastic sheet for agricultural purposes needed wildly allover the country in growing winter field crops.
